How to calculate reading WPM

WPM = words read × 60 ÷ reading time in seconds. For example, 600 words in 2 minutes gives 300 WPM.

Use the time spent actively reading. The optional effective rate is WPM × comprehension percentage ÷ 100. It uses the score you enter; this calculator does not test understanding.
