How the estimate works

Reading time in minutes = number of words ÷ WPM. A 1,500-word article at 300 WPM takes about 5 minutes.

The estimate assumes a steady pace. Breaks, rereading, difficult content and RSVP punctuation pauses can add time.

Pasted text uses groups separated by whitespace, matching readbooks.in’s RSVP word count. For text without spaces, enter a word count instead. To find a pace to use, try the reading speed test.
