TSMC reported third-quarter revenue of US$46.72 billion in its 15 October earnings release, up 41.2% from a year earlier in US-dollar terms. Revenue measured in New Taiwan dollars increased by 50.9%, reflecting the different currency comparison.
Net profit reached NT$763.06 billion, rising 68.7% from the corresponding quarter. The company’s manufacturing mix continued to shift towards its more advanced semiconductor processes.
Technologies at seven nanometres and below accounted for 79% of wafer revenue. That share describes wafer-revenue composition, not the percentage of every chip sold worldwide, while the profit figure is denominated in New Taiwan dollars rather than US dollars.
