Meta released Muse Spark Open on 15 October, according to its model card and accompanying licence. The company describes a model that accepts text, images, audio and video as inputs and produces text, with an emphasis on coding and tasks involving multiple tools.
Its published specifications list 816 billion total parameters, with 42 billion active, and a context capacity of one million tokens. These are the developer’s specifications, rather than independent benchmark results or a promise about performance on ordinary consumer devices.
The weights are available under the Muse Model License. Meta recommends additional safeguards when deploying the model in a wider system. This catch-up retains the original release date instead of presenting it as an 18 October launch.
