Prime Minister Narendra Modi met India’s Asian Games contingent at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi on 15 October, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The gathering recognised the athletes’ performances at the Aichi–Nagoya Games.
India finished with 85 medals: 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. The official account placed India fourth in the medal standings and highlighted achievements across the contingent.
The meeting was a celebration after the competition, rather than a new day of medal results. The tally should not be described as India’s highest ever, and the date of the reception should remain separate from the dates on which the medals were won.
