The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority announced trade-margin controls for 137 identified non-scheduled anti-cancer medicines on 17 October. The government said the cap is 30% of maximum retail price and that revised prices will apply from 9 November 2026.
Manufacturers must submit revised prices to the authority within seven days of the notification and distribute updated price lists. Retailers and hospitals are required to display and apply the lower prices from the implementation date.
The government expects reductions of up to 70%, depending on existing price structures. That is a stated potential reduction, not a uniform discount already available on every cancer medicine. The announcement concerns pricing and access, rather than a new treatment approval.
