Technology shares were prominent in the recovery. HCLTech and TCS rose strongly, and the Nifty IT index gained more than 5% as investors assessed quarterly earnings and the sector’s outlook.
The benchmark increases were about 1.54% for the Sensex and 1.6% for the Nifty. These figures describe Tuesday’s completed session, following Monday’s losses, rather than a forecast that the same pace of gains would continue throughout the week.
