Axis Bank reported net profit of Rs 7,003.3 crore for the second quarter of the 2026–27 financial year on 17 October. Profit increased 37.6% from a year earlier but was below the analyst estimate cited by Moneycontrol.
Net interest income rose 11.8% to Rs 15,371.4 crore. That exceeded the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate in the report, illustrating why a company can beat expectations on one measure while missing them on another.
The results were announced on Saturday, after the preceding trading session had finished. Friday’s closing share price therefore predates the release and should not be presented as the market’s response to the newly reported quarter.
